The Forum · 7:30pm
| Mozart | Overture to Il re pastore K208 |
| Concerto in C major for flute and harp K299 | |
| Requiem in D minor K626 |
This year’s closing concert is an all-Mozart programme, including the endearing Concerto for flute and harp, and ending with the immortal Requiem, left unfinished on the composer’s deathbed and completed by his pupil Süssmayer. The performers include leading instrumental and vocal soloists, Bath’s own hugely successful Bath Camerata, and the City of London Sinfonia. This event was to have been conducted by Richard Hickox, who founded the CLS in 1971 and appeared frequently with the orchestra at the Mozartfest. Following his tragically sudden death on 23 November last year, this concert is now dedicated to his memory. We are grateful to the eminent international conductor Sir Roger Norrington for taking over what should prove to be a memorable and moving occasion.
