The world-renowned Florestan Trio make the first of their two appearances in the closing weekend of Mozartfest in the company of soprano Joan Rodgers. She sings some of the delightful folk song arrangements that Haydn made for publishers in Edinburgh, and with pianist Susan Tomes a group of songs by Mendelssohn. To complete the programme the Trio play Beethoven’s Ghost Trio, with its uniquely atmospheric slow movement, and Brahms’s sonorous final Trio.
