Mendelssohn Scherzo, Nocturne, Intermezzo and Wedding March from A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Mozart Piano Concerto No 18 in B flat major K 456
Dvorák Symphony No 9 in E minor Op 95 From the New World

Sir Charles Hallé was invited to settle in Bath in 1848, but instead chose Manchester, where he founded the famous orchestra that still bears his name. To end this year’s Mozartfest, that orc hestra makes what is believed to be its first ever visit to the city, with its Music Director Sir Mark Elder. After her solo recital on Monday, Imogen Cooper, a celebrated interpreter of Mozart, returns to play one of the composer’s most inventive and colourful concertos. Mendelssohn’s music for Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream makes a welcome (if unseasonal) opener, and Dvorák’s evergreen New World Symphony a resounding finale.
