The final young artists’ lunchtime recital of 2010 is given by the prodigiously gifted Adam Walker, appointed principal flautist of the London Symphony Orchestra last year at the age of 21, and holder of a coveted Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship Award. With the multi-talented Huw Watkins, he performs a violin Rondo by Mozart in a flute version of the time, transcriptions of songs by Schubert and piano duets by Debussy, and César Franck’s impassioned Violin Sonata, now also a staple of the flute repertoire.
