The Cardinall’s Musick, the superb vocal consort which has won four Gramophone Awards including 2010 Recording of the Year, presents a programme tracing the varied influences on Mozart during his European travels as a child prodigy. The music includes Lotti’s ten-part Crucifixus, the famous Allegri Miserere, which Mozart heard in the Sistine Chapel and reportedly wrote down from memory, and J S Bach’s grandest motet, Jesu meine Freude. In the candlelit setting of St Mary’s, Bathwick, this promises to be a very special evening.
