The young British pianist Grace Francis could hardly have a warmer recommendation than the praise of her colleague Stephen Hough for her “superb pianism, her commanding and intelligent musicality and a seriousness and intensity of focus in performance which makes her someone special”. In this lunchtime recital, she plays an improvisatory Mozart Fantasia, an intimate Beethoven sonata and Rachmaninov’s virtuoso variations on Corelli’s La Folia, before ending with a bicentenary tribute to Liszt.
