| Rossini | String Sonata No 3 in C major |
| Mozart | Sinfonia Concertante in E flat major K364 |
| Britten | Simple Symphony for strings |
| Mozart | Symphony No 29 in A major K201 |
Last year the English Chamber Orchestra impressed at the Mozartfest with its newly appointed Principal Conductor and Music Director Paul Watkins. This year, orchestra and conductor return to perform two masterpieces from Mozart’s Salzburg years, the Sinfonia Concertante for violin and viola, with Marianne Thorsen and Lawrence Power as soloists, and the tuneful and intricately worked Symphony No 29. These are complemented by effervescently youthful works for strings by Rossini, composed at the age of 12, and Benjamin Britten, based on pieces written at an even younger age!
