The first of this year’s weekday lunchtime recitals by young artists is given by the Sitkovetsky Trio. This international ensemble was formed in 2007 by three alumni of the famous Yehudi Menuhin School who share a passion for chamber music. Since then it has been honoured by the first prize in the 2008 International Commerzbank Chamber Music Award, and numerous other awards and residencies. The group’s programme consists of Haydn’s most famous trio, with its exhilarating finale in the Hungarian or gypsy style, and one of the most powerful of all Dvořák’s chamber works.
